Ouvrage ancien. Il s’agit de l’édition de 1716 de « Le spectateur ou le Socrate moderne où l’on voit un portrait naïf des mœurs de ce siècle ». La première édition sous forme d’un volume parut en 1712. Il doit s’agir de la deuxième. Á l’origine il s’agissait d’un journal. Il était rédigé par les anglais Richard Steel et Joseph Addison
Le Spectateur fut un des premiers périodiques anglais qui parut ainsi chaque jour de 1711 à 1712. Destiné à la classe moyenne, le Spectateur porte un regard ironique sur la société anglaise.

Il s’agit là du tome second. Édité chez Etienne Papillon à Paris. 452 pages plus 27 de table des matières. Je présente juste quelques pages de cette table ce qui permet d’avoir une idée du contenu. Petits défauts sur les plats et le dos ainsi que sur les coins mais sans gravité majeure. Intérieur complet, très propre. Dos à nerfs. Ouvrage qui mesure 16 cm sur 10 cm. Envoi soigné en colissimo au tarif de la Poste (8,10 euros). Colissimo recommandé pour l’étranger.
